Sometime around the beginning of the 1995, we contacted K2 Aviation. They sent us some
information about their air taxi services. On Feb 7th, we made a phone deposit of $100.00.
An additional charge of $227.00 each was required upon arrival. All together it cost us
$260.00 each for the air taxi service between Talkeetna and the 7,000' landing zone in
1995. It was no problem to be arriving in Talkeetna at midnight. For an additional charge of $12.00/night, we stayed at the K2 Climber Bunkhouse. We were also able to purchase Coleman fuel at $8.00/gal. Any fuel purchased would be received at the landing zone from Annie. We were scheduled to fly out of Talkeetna at 2:00 PM the next day, but were called at the bunkhouse in the morning saying they were ready to fly us out around noon. Needless to say we were running around like "chickens without heads" at the last hour. |
